Installing and configuring Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise modern web application

This article provides a complete checklist for installing and configuring Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise modern web application, including essential steps and optional configuration items.
Registering your organisation
To register your organisation:
- Go to the registration page.
- Choose the appropriate region.
- Enter a valid business email address.
Whitelisting required items
To whitelist the necessary items:
- Review the whitelisting article.
- Whitelist the items listed in section 2.
Creating the administration site
To create the administration site:
- Create a basic SharePoint site named oneplacesolutions on your tenant.
This site will hold settings and profile details for the application. Sections 1 and 2 in the creating the administration site article provide detailed instructions.
Deploying the software
To deploy the web app:
- Follow the instructions in the deploying the web app.
This guide provides complete instructions for deploying the web app to the Microsoft Admin Center.
Consenting the app
To consent the app on behalf of your organisation:
- Go to the consent page.
- Grant consent.
This prevents all users from being prompted for admin authentication.

Installing the admin client
The admin client is a Windows-based application that only needs to be installed on one or two machines for administering the solution.
To install the admin client:
- Decide who your administrators will be.
- Choose your installation method:
- Use the .msi to package the application and push via Intune or;
- Manually install using the all-in-one installer, then deselect elements that are not required
Connecting to the administration site
To connect to your administration site:
- Follow the instructions in the connecting to your administration site article.
Note: Microsoft admin authentication is required for this activity.
Deploying the email columns
To deploy the email columns:
- Access the machine where the admin client has been installed.
- Follow the instructions in the adding email columns article.
This allows all metadata to be captured for filed emails.
Deploying the email search schema
To deploy the email search schema:
- Follow the instructions in the configuring SharePoint search schema article.
This ensures that the web search will populate all columns in the search.
Configuring optional items
The following configuration items are optional but can enhance your solution.
Configuration profiles
Configuration profiles allow administrators to centrally control certain elements of the solution.
To create configuration profiles:
- Follow the instructions in the creating and managing configuration profiles article.

Solution profiles
Solution profiles allow administrators to configure profiles to dynamically deliver filing locations and other business solutions to end users.
To create solution profiles:

Understanding required permissions
The following permissions are required for installation and configuration:
- SharePoint Admin: Required to add a new single basic site named oneplacesolutions as an administration site
- Microsoft Admin: Required to make the connection between the Ideagen Mail Manager admin client and the administration site (after the initial connection, normal user credentials can be used in the admin client)
