Users who want to backup their Mail Manager enterprise settings.

no special access is required.

Your Favourites, Recents and manually added SharePoint connections are stored locally on your PC, and you can keep a copy to restore them after a device change, a reinstall, or a tenant move.

Understanding where these settings live

Mail Manager Enterprise stores your locations and connection settings in your Windows profile, under:

• %appdata%\Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions
• %localappdata%\Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions

To open these quickly, press Windows + R, paste the path (for example %appdata%\Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions) and press Enter.

Backing up your locations

To back up your filing locations:

1. Close Outlook (and the Docs app if open).
2. Press Windows + R, paste %appdata%\Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions and press Enter.
3. Copy the whole Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions folder to a safe place (for example OneDrive or a network folder).

Note: The %localappdata%\Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions folder also holds an encrypted sign-in token cache. You do not need to back this up — you will simply sign in again on the new device.

Restoring your locations on a new PC or after a reinstall

To restore your filing locations:

1. Install and sign in to Mail Manager Enterprise on the new machine first.
2. Close Outlook.
3. Copy your backed-up Ideagen Mail Manager Enterprise Solutions folder back into %appdata% (replacing the newly created one).
4. Reopen Outlook.

Your Favourites and Recents should reappear.

Important: If you are moving to a new Microsoft 365 / SharePoint tenant, the old SharePoint URLs will no longer be valid. In that case do not restore your old Favourites — start fresh so your locations point at the new tenant. When Windows/OneDrive prompts to restore a backup of these settings, choose not to restore.
