When saving emails to SharePoint using Ideagen Mail Manager in Outlook, you may encounter the error message 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' or 'An unhandled error has occurred in the drag/drop operation (SaveItemToLocation)'.
Understanding the issue
This error occurs when Outlook temporarily gets stuck during the save process. The full error message may appear as:
"An unhandled error has occurred in the drag/drop operation (SaveItemToLocation). Please try the drag/drop operation again."
Resolving the error
To resolve this error:
- Restart Outlook.
If the issue persists:
- Delete or reset the Ideagen Mail Manager PST file by following the instructions in the related article below.
If the issue still persists:
- Close Outlook completely.
- Reopen Outlook and attempt to save the email again.
If the error continues:
