Getting started with search in the App
Who is this article for?
Users who want to learn to access and navigate the email search in the web app.
No elevated permissions are required.
The email search web app can be accessed in two ways and provides a static header with useful navigation options across all pages.
1. Accessing the app using the Open Search button
This is the recommended way to access the app.
To access the Search web app, follow these steps:
- Click the Open Search button in either Read Mode or Compose Mode add-in.
The Search app launches in a new browser tab.
If you are logged out of Outlook, you will be prompted to select an account without entering your password.
2. Accessing the app using the central Search URL
To access the app directly, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the URL: https://search.oneplaceapps.net.
If you are logged out of Outlook, you will be prompted to select an account and enter your password.
3. Navigating the app header
The header is static across all pages of the app and gives you access to useful options.
You can use the options to:
- Reset the email results table
- View your account details
- Access support resources
- Set the default search date range
4. Setting the default date range
On first use, the default selection is Anytime.
The default date range dropdown contains the following options:
- Anytime
- Today
- Past 3 days
- Past week
- Past month
- Past 3 months
- Past year
- Custom
To change the default date range, follow these steps:
- Select a new option from the dropdown.
Changes are saved automatically. The results table updates to show the new Sent date range without reloading the page.
Note: The Sent date filter in the Filter by panel uses the default set in the Settings panel.
