This article outlines the product changes that have been made in release 7.4.
1. Release 7.4 overview
Release 7.4 is an exciting release with something for everyone. It includes support for SharePoint 2016, the ability to edit SharePoint item properties directly from Microsoft Outlook or EnterpriseDocs Explorer, and a user interface for central management and publishing of Mail Manager Enterprise settings.
2. Enhancements
2.1. EnterpriseMail and EnterpriseDocs
- Edit item properties in Microsoft Outlook or EnterpriseDocs Explorer from the embedded grid view
- Insert from SharePoint into meeting appointments and meeting requests
- Right-click menu to "Save all attachments" to SharePoint
- Show when an item is checked out in the content view
- Icelandic characters preserved when saving files
- Excel documents opened from EnterpriseDocs Explorer or EnterpriseMail now open in the same Excel instance (Excel 2013+)
- Icon displayed when an item is declared as a record in SharePoint
2.2. Solution Profile
- Configuration service now has a user interface for easier settings management and publishing
- Improved solution profiles service UI
- Central register supports document sets and computed value columns
- Search profile modified to increase default search results above 25 items
2.3. Email tracking service
- Tracking information can be added for any user, not just group members
- Limit of 25 recipients per email still applies
2.4. Other updates
- Software trial period now begins when software is opened (previously after 10 saves)
- Users can access download links directly from the "Check for updates" window
- Installation packages now use latest WIX version with major security enhancements
- Improved performance when loading SharePoint navigation tree

- Resolved issue preventing preview of msg/eml/mht/mhtml emails in preview window (Outlook 2016, O365, and Outlook 2013 build 1704+)
- Resolved issue with Office 365 when previewing non-Microsoft Office file types
- Resolved error when suppressing columns with apostrophes in names
- Resolved error saving to lookup columns with apostrophes in multi-value fields
- Resolved issue with ampersands in save locations causing errors
- Resolved error when right-clicking solution profiles with central register
- Resolved issue enabling/disabling solution profiles via client install
- Resolved XML errors when renaming favorites or disabling suggested locations
- Resolved issue saving to document set folders via central register
- Resolved issue creating configuration or solution profiles with duplicate names
- Resolved issue when no default content type is specified and editing item properties
- Resolved inconsistent behavior with .dotx files
- Resolved issue where save location incorrectly stated email attributes would not be captured
- Resolved issue resizing column widths on high-DPI displays in EnterpriseDocs Explorer
- Resolved issue with Adobe Acrobat DC plugin not installing
- Resolved issue saving files to SharePoint from Office apps where changes were only saved to SharePoint copy
- Resolved issue with managed metadata column type-ahead when user language is missing
- Resolved issue with spaces in metadata column names when creating document sets/folders
- Resolved issue with SharePoint view threshold warnings
- Resolved issue with language mismatch between user profile and site collection
- Resolved "ServerRelativeUrl error" when saving to custom SharePoint URLs
- Resolved duplicate name issue in manage favorites (case sensitivity)

- Resolved issue with sandbox solutions for SharePoint Online
- Removed tracking email subject prefix option from configuration service
4. Notes
- SharePoint 2016 is now supported
- .NET Framework prerequisite updated from 4.0 to 4.5.2
- Server components must be upgraded if currently used
- Custom web service for configuration updates is deprecated
