This article outlines the product changes that have been made in release 8.6.

1. What's New in Version 8.6

The new Mail Manager Enterprise Release 8.6 (R8.6) enhances the document management experience. This release delivers the ability to create documents directly from the desktop or Outlook.

2. R8.6.1 – Enhancement

• Users can retry to obtain a Subscription Id.

3. R8.6 – Enhancements

• Ability to create documents from EnterpriseDocs and EnterpriseMail, including support for document content types (Microsoft 365 only).
• Ability to add sharing links when inserting a link via EnterpriseMail 'Insert to SharePoint'.
• Ability to configure the 'Enable Overwrite' option to be enabled by default when saving to SharePoint.
• When selecting 'View item in browser' via EnterpriseMail or EnterpriseDocs, the link will now open the document rather than its properties.
• Solution Profiles: Search Location items can now be returned and ordered by the date the item was created.
• Solution Profiles: When defining a descendant location, it is now possible to select the item to a specific view in the library.
• Solution Profiles: Shortcut items can now be configured to show a specific view in the library.
• Pre-requisite updated to .NET 4.7.2 minimum.

4. R8.6 – Fixes

• Resolved an issue when 'Favorite' locations were selected multiple times in the Outlook Navigation pane, returning an error.
• Resolved an issue when copying a document from one location to another and metadata from the source location was applied to the new location.
• Resolved an issue when upgrading from an older release where favorite locations contained spaces in the URL.
• Resolved an issue when attempting to connect to a location in a central register where a space existed.
• Resolved an issue where PDF applications were not SharePoint Aware.
• Resolved an issue with PDF file extension when inserting a document into an email and converting to PDF format.
• Resolved an issue where only one application could be customized to be SharePoint Aware via the Configuration Profile.
• Resolved an issue when saving to a library in a subsite where the subsite and library shared the same name.
• Resolved an issue when saving to a hierarchy exceeding 400 characters.
• Resolved an issue where Enterprise Keywords could not be created.
• Resolved an issue when performing a search in a central register that was completed against the site of the register.
• Resolved an issue when saving to a folder with an apostrophe in the folder location.
• Resolved an issue when selecting 'Replace this file with file in SharePoint' and the file included a period in the filename.
• Resolved an issue when saving to a location belonging to a subsite that had an ampersand in the URL.
