This article outlines configuration options available to personalize and manage Enterprise Solutions Desktop products using configuration profiles.
1. Popular configuration items
- SharePoint / Office 365 Connections: Centrally deploy SharePoint site connections to multiple users.
- Prompt 'Save to SharePoint' when adding attachments to an email: Enable or disable the prompt to transfer attachments to SharePoint when added to an email.
- Prompt 'Save to SharePoint' when sending an email: Enable or disable the prompt to transfer emails to SharePoint when sending.
- Outlook category on save / transfer to SharePoint: Enable or disable the 'Transferred to SharePoint' category and configure a custom category name.
- Show welcome screen on start-up: Enable or disable the welcome screen when Outlook starts.
- Save email message options: Choose between EML (recommended) and MSG formats for saving emails.
2. Configure buttons & labels
- Copy to SharePoint: Rename the button in the ribbon and right-click menus.
- Move to SharePoint button: Rename or hide the button to prevent items moving from the inbox.
- Favorites button: Rename the button to personalize the experience.
- Insert from SharePoint button: Customize the button when composing or replying to emails.

3. Enhanced configuration items
- Email content type detection when saving emails: Set a default content type name for saving emails to SharePoint (e.g., 'EnterpriseMail Email').
- Maximum number of emails per transaction: Configure the number of emails users can save at once (default is 200, max is 1000).
- Search locations: Configure search pages and location queries in SharePoint.
- Launch locations: Add URLs to allow users to access webpages or Power Automate links directly from Outlook.
- Email header property to SharePoint column value rules: Promote sensitivity labels from Outlook emails to SharePoint columns.
