This article explains how to customise settings and deliver SharePoint locations to users using configuration profiles.
1. Customise settings
All items available in the settings menu can be configured through a configuration profile. Once configured, these settings will be applied to the user's client machine.
2. Use filters to manage configuration items
- All configuration items – view all available settings
- Modified items – view items that have been updated
- Popular items – view commonly configured settings
- Visual configuration items – filter out labels and buttons for UI customization
Use the dropdown filters to quickly locate the item you want to configure.
3. Deliver SharePoint sites
To surface SharePoint sites in the navigation pane for users:
- From the central dropdown, select Popular Configuration Items.
- Select SharePoint / Office 365 Connections.
- Select Add to enter the site URL.
Once the profile is published, these sites will automatically appear in the navigation pane for users to browse and select. All sites and site collections are security trimmed based on user permissions.
