Using general Enterprise Mail settings

Administrators who want to use the general settings in Enterprise Mail.
No elevated permissions are required.
This article outlines configuration options specific to email integration settings and data storage locations.
1. General settings
The options described here apply only to the email integration component and do not affect document management tools.
2. Email client settings
- Prompt to save to SharePoint when adding attachments: Users are prompted to save an attachment to SharePoint when adding a file to an email.
- Prompt to save to SharePoint when sending an email: When selecting the standard send button, users can be prompted to save the email to SharePoint.
3. Data location
The data location setting allows users to access SharePoint locations directly from their email client.
During installation, a PST file is created by default. This file is stored in the user profile and does not contain any data.
3.1. Available options

Data file – Local user profile (recommended): Stored
under
c:\users\.\appdata\local -
Data file – Roaming user profile: Required for environments
with roaming profiles or virtual desktop solutions. Stored under
c:\users\.\appdata\roaming - Default data file: Stores folders in the default mailbox. This option is used when PST creation is disabled.
