Sending and saving emails to Microsoft 365 from the app

Users who want to learn to save emails to Microsoft 365 from the app.
No elevated permissions are required.
This guide explains how to use the Ideagen Mail Manager: Enterprise app to save emails to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online while composing or replying.
1. Overview
Save emails to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online when composing or replying to emails. Set a Microsoft 365 filing location to save to and you're all good to go!
Note: If you deployed the app prior to the update released on 10 April, a Microsoft 365 administrator must accept an upgrade via the Admin Center for the Send & Save feature to work.
2. Send and save
An email can be sent to recipient(s) and saved to SharePoint when composing or replying to an email.
- When composing or replying to an email, click the Insert From SharePoint icon in the Ideagen Mail Manager: Enterprise app to open the Save tab and choose a filing location.
- Navigate to the location you want to save the new email to, then click Save.
- This sets the filing location, and the new email will be filed to that location when you send it.
- To reset the filing location and any custom content type properties, click the Change location button.
3. Send and save prompt reminder
The Ideagen Mail Manager: Enterprise app will automatically prompt if a filing location is not set when an email is sent.
In the user's settings, they can enable or disable the prompt that reminds them to set a filing location for composed emails when they click Send. If disabled and no filing location is set, the email will be sent without being filed.
3.1. Smart alert conditions
The smart alert dialog will appear when the user clicks Send only if:
- The Show warning message when I have not set a filing location on outgoing mail setting is enabled (default).
- No filing location has been set.
3.2. Smart alert actions
- Clicking Send Anyway sends the email without filing it.
- Clicking Set filing location opens the Save tab to set the location.
- Clicking Don't Send closes the smart alert dialog.
