OnePlaceMail Desktop add-in is installed but is not loading in Outlook.
2. Troubleshooting
The OnePlace Mail add-in for Outlook may not load in Outlook when there are multiple versions of Office installed. Like MS Project or MS Visio.
Other issues that may cause the add-in to not load include Outlook starting slower than expected and the user accidentally selects a dialog box to disable the add-in.
3. Resolution
Option 1: Ensure that there are not multiple versions of Office installed
Please check that there are not multiple versions of Office installed on the machine via Add/Remove Programs.
If multiple versions of Office are installed the OnePlace Mail add-in will not load.
Common forms of MS office that cause problems are Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
If you have these installed, please uninstall them, re install OnePlace Solutions, then reinstall Project or Visio or your other MS Office.
Option 2: Reinstall OnePlace Solutions with the All in One installer.
OnePlace Solutions requires some pre requisites, if these are not installed it can acuse problems for the Add in to load. To resolve this, please uninstall OnePlace solutions and then re install using the below All in One Installer.
1. Go to Windows > Installed Apps > Then Uninstall OnePlace Solutions
2. Download the OnePlace Solutions ALL in One Installer here - All-in-one EXE installer
3. Run this installer to re install OnePlace Solutions with all of the pre requisite software
Option 3: Enable the add-in via Outlook
Please check that the add-in is enabled:
- Open Outlook.
- Select File.
- Choose Options from the list.
- Switch to Add-ins.
OnePlaceMail add-in should be listed under 'Active Application Add-ins', with a load behavior set to Load at Startup (found by clicking the Go... button).
If OnePlaceMail does not appear here, click Manage COM Addins and select Enable Add ins.
If the Load Behavior is set correctly but the add-in is still not appearing, please navigate to 'Manage Disabled Items' and enable the OnePlaceMail DLL.
Option 3: Check registry settings to confirm load behavior
If the steps in Option 2 did not resolve the issue, please check the settings in the registry.
When opening regedit (Registry Editor), please ensure you open it as yourself/the user to change registry under HKEY_LOCAL_USER (HKLU), and open regedit as an administrator to change registry under HKEY_LOCAL_Machine (HKLM).
As the logged in User
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\OnePlaceMail:LoadBehavior = 3
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\OnePlaceMail:LoadBehavior =3
As an Administrator
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\OnePlaceMail:LoadBehavior=3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\OnePlaceMail:LoadBehavior = 3
You will be able to see the OnePlaceMail options in the Outlook Home ribbon when OnePlaceMail add-in has loaded successfully.
