Disabling Conversation ID automation

Users who have previously set up email automation via Conversation ID.
Ideagen Mail Manager Tracking & Automation licence is required.
Conversation ID automation allows you to automatically file all future emails in a conversation thread to a designated location in Microsoft 365. If you've enabled automation for a conversation and want to stop automatic filing, you can do that at any time.
This article walks you through the process of disabling the automation for your emails.
1. Disabling automation
Disabling automation only affects future emails in the conversation. Previously saved emails remain in their filed location.
Depending on what you want to do with the current email, you have a few options.
1.1. Keep file and disable automation
To disable automation:
- Select the email with enabled automation.
- Open the add-in.
- Choose your filing location.
You will be taken to the Properties page where you will see a message indicating that automatic saving is already enabled. - Untick Keep saving future emails in this conversation to this location.
- Click Apply automation settings only.
This will disable the automation only.
You can re-enable automation at any time by following the enablement steps again.
1.2. Overwrite file without disabling automation
To overwrite automation:
- Select the email with enabled automation.
- Open the add-in.
- Choose your filing location.
You will be taken to the Properties page where you will see a message indicating that automatic saving is already enabled. - Tick Overwrite / version existing files.
- Click Save.
This will update the previously saved email while keeping the automation active.
1.3. Overwrite file and disable automation
To overwrite and disable automation:
- Select the email with enabled automation.
- Open the add-in.
- Choose your filing location.
You will be taken to the Properties page where you will see a message indicating that automatic saving is already enabled. - Tick Overwrite / version existing files.
- Untick Keep saving future emails in this conversation to this location.
- Click Save & apply automation settings.
This will update the existing file and stop future automatic filing.
